What is the difference between a chauffeur booking and a standard taxi?

A late model sedan presented to a higher standard, driven by one of our more experienced drivers. It carries a higher occupancy rate than a standard sedan, shown before you confirm.

Will the driver meet me inside the terminal?

Yes. For a limousine booking the driver waits inside the terminal with a name sign and helps with luggage.

Can I book a limousine on a corporate account?

Yes. Corporate bookings run on a monthly invoiced account with one point of contact, so travellers do not pay out of pocket.

Is this a stretch limousine?

No. In Melbourne a limousine booking means a chauffeur driven luxury car, and that is what this is: a late model Mercedes, BMW, Audi or Lexus with a suited driver. If you are after a stretch vehicle for a wedding or a party, we are not the operator for that.

How far in advance should I book a chauffeur car?

The day before is comfortable for a specific model, and a few hours is usually enough for the class. Chauffeur vehicles are a smaller fleet than the taxis, so a same hour request may come back as a Silver Service sedan instead.

Can I request a particular car?

You can ask, and we will do it where the vehicle is free. What we guarantee is the class: an executive sedan, a luxury sedan, a luxury SUV or a people mover. Tell us the passenger count and the bags and the right class is allocated.

How many passengers and bags fit in a chauffeur car?

An executive or luxury sedan takes three passengers with two large and two small bags. A luxury SUV takes four with three large and three small. A Mercedes V300 takes seven with five large, and a Sprinter eleven with eight large.

Do you do chauffeur work outside the airport?

Yes. Corporate travel, client pickups, roadshows and regional runs are all normal work, priced on the same fixed fare basis as an airport transfer rather than an hourly rate.

The chauffeur service, often asked for as a limousine, is not a taxi. It is a hire car booking: a Mercedes, BMW, Audi or Lexus with a suited driver, arranged for a set time rather than hailed. No taxi livery, no rooftop sign, no meter in the car. If what you want is a newer taxi with a senior driver rather than a hire car, that is Silver Service and it costs considerably less.

Everything else works the way the rest of our service does. The price is agreed before you travel, tolls are included, and the driver is paid at the end of the trip rather than on booking.

The Driver

Chauffeur work is assigned to drivers who do it regularly rather than to whoever is nearest. Every driver is accredited to drive commercial passenger vehicles in Victoria.

What a Chauffeur Booking Costs

The fare is worked out on the real driving distance to your address, then locked before you travel. There is no meter running in traffic and no surge at 3am. A chauffeur booking is priced above a standard sedan for the class of car and the driver, not for the number of passengers. We confirm the figure with you before you book rather than adding it at the end.

Waiting time is free for the first fifteen minutes. Cancellation is free up to two hours before pickup.
